A discovery of Mykonos

The main town of Mykonos, sometimes called Chora by the locals, is a typical Cycladic village. The whitewashed cubist houses have wooden-colored doors, windows and balconies; narrow streets form a labyrinth with beautiful churches and chapels that contrast against the bright white walls.

Take your time exploring the pedestrianized streets of the Old Town. Early morning is the best time to walk around this beautiful town, when there are fewer people and the temperature is more bearable.

Little Venice

Little Venice”, a row of typical Mykonian houses built right next to the water with their balconies hanging over the port of the island.This area of Mykonos Town is a great place to watch the sunset – but it is popular, so if you plan to do so, get there early. There are a couple of bars and tavernas facing out onto the water.

Mykonos Windmills

The windmills are perhaps one of the most iconic landmarks of Mykonos and one not to be missed. A symbol of the islands rich past, the windmills represented one of the earliest manufacturing units in Greece, showing the locals' great use of innovation in their effort to harness the enormous power of the wind.

Just a short walk from Little Venice, it's also another beautiful spot to watch the sunset.

Mykonos is a blessed with an abundance of absolutely beautiful beaches, stretching out across more than 89 km of coastline. Most beaches are long strips of sand, while just a few are pebbly and some offering secluded coves.
